Apply BODMAS or PEMDAS. Multiplication first before addition.

1 + 2 × 3 = 1 + 6 = 7 1+ 2\times 3=1+6=7

This is the trick question, we must remember multiply and divide first, so the answer is 7

Using the laws regarding the order in which to perform mathematical operations, we must multiply first, giving

1 + 6 1+6

This, of course, equals 7 .
