Assume that the number of micro-organisms now is A. Because it is half full then 2A is needed to fill the slide up. Because it doubles every 20 seconds, after 20 seconds the number of micro-organisms will be 2A, which fully fills the slide.

Every 20 seconds, the micro-organisms double. Since they filled up 1/2 of the slide, doubling would fill the whole slide. Therefor, after 20 more seconds, the slide would be filled.

Semi means half, so it would only take 20 seconds for that micro-organism to fill the slide.

it takes the one 20 seconds to split into 2 ,, so, when the slide is semi-filled , it will take only 20 seconds to become fully filled .... Time passes for everyone at the same time.

nice question

I added "how long more", as opposed to "how long" which means "what is the total time that it would take".
