Three friends divided some bullets equally. After all of them shot 4 bullets the total no. of bullets remaining is equal to the bullets each had after division. Find the original number of bullets.

Let there are x bullets After division each have x/3 bullets. Each shot 4 bullets. Now remaining bullet each have=x/3-4. total remaining bullet combined of each=3(x/3-4) we get 3(x/3-4)=x/3 weget x=18 which is real no. of bullets.

Let total bullets = x
Each gets = x/3
Each fired 4 bullets
Total bullet fired = 4 *3 = 12
As per given condition
x - 12 = x/3
2x = 36
x = 18
let number of bullets be x, number of bullets divided into three friends = x/3 so,the equation is ; (x/3-4)3=x/3 (x-12/3)3=x/3 (3x-36/3)=x/3 3x-36=x/3*3 3x-36=x -36=x-3x -36=-2x 18=x
