3 ( 3 x − 4 ) = 3 x a = 3 x 3 a − 1 2 = a a = 6 x = 1 8
the statement of the question is not clear. '' All of them shot 4'' means collectively they shot 4, instead , every one shot 4. anyhow very interesting problem, thanks
nice one..!!
3(x/3-4) =x/3 a=x/3 3a-12=a a=6 x=18
Let there are x bullets After division each have x/3 bullets. Each shot 4 bullets. Now remaining bullet each have=x/3-4. total remaining bullet combined of each=3(x/3-4) we get 3(x/3-4)=x/3 weget x=18 which is real no. of bullets.

a very simple solution l e t t o t a l b u l l e t s b e 3 x s o e a c h f r i e n d g e t x b u l l e t ( s ) n o w e a c h o f t h e m s h o t 4 b u l l e t s t h i s m e a n s : x − 4 + x − 4 + x − 4 a c c o r d i n g t o q u e s . x − 4 + x − 4 + x − 4 = x s o s o l v i n g t h i s w e g e t x = 6 a n d t h e a n s w e r i s 6 × 3 = 1 8
Let total bullets = x
Each gets = x/3
Each fired 4 bullets
Total bullet fired = 4 *3 = 12
As per given condition
x - 12 = x/3
2x = 36
x = 18

let number of bullets be x, number of bullets divided into three friends = x/3 so,the equation is ; (x/3-4)3=x/3 (x-12/3)3=x/3 (3x-36/3)=x/3 3x-36=x/3*3 3x-36=x -36=x-3x -36=-2x 18=x
