On a sunny morning, a greengrocer places 200 kilograms of cucumbers in cases in front of his shop. At that moment, the cucumbers are 99% water.
In the afternoon, it turns out that it is the hottest day of the year, and as a result, the cucumbers dry out a little bit. At the end of the day, the greengrocer has not sold a single cucumber, and the cucumbers are only 98% water of the total weight of cucumbers at the end of the day, say X kgs.
Find the Value of X i.e. (weight of cucumbers at the end of the Day)

Total weight of Cucumbers= 200 kgs Proportion of water(Variable content) =99% Therefore, proportion of Fixed content= 1%
Weight of Fixed content= 1%*200= 2 kgs
At the end of the day
Total weight of Cucumbers= X kgs Proportion of water(Variable content) =98% of X Therefore, proportion of Fixed content= 2% of X
But the weight of fixed content shall not change.
Therefore at the end of the day, 2%* X= 2
Therefore, X=2kgs / 2%=100 kgs
So value of cucmbers at the end of the day is 100 kgs
