A n d r e a h a s 2 0 m a r b l e s . S h e l o s e s 4 1 m e a n s h e l o s e s 5 R e m a i n i g m a r b l e s = 2 0 − 5 R e m a i n i g m a r b l e s = 1 5
Answet is 2 0 × ( 1 − 4 1 ) = 2 0 × 4 3 = 1 5
If Andrea loses 4 1 , she is left with 1 − 4 1 = 4 3 which is 4 3 × 2 0 = 3 × 5 = 1 5 marbles
20/4 = 5 i.e. she lost 5 marbles then 20-5= 15
If Andrea loses 4 1 of her marbles, she would have:
1 - 4 1 = 4 3 marbles.
Now she has 4 3 marbles of her initial 20, which is
2 0 ∗ 4 3
= 1 5
1/4th of 20 = 20/4 = 5 and it is written that she loses 1/4th of the marbles, so she is left with 20-5=15 marbles and that is the correct answer!!!!!!!
