Given that G H = 5 , K H = 3 , K I = 8 , I J = 10 GH=5, KH=3, KI=8, IJ=10 , what's the measure of J K I \angle JKI ?

As angles of the same segment are equal H G K = K I J \angle HGK = \angle KIJ and G H K = K J I \angle GHK = \angle KJI we conclude that H K G a n d J K I \triangle HKG \ \ and \ \ \triangle JKI are similar. Therefore J K = I J G H H K JK = \frac{IJ}{GH} \cdot HK , i.e. JK = 6. With sides 6, 8 and 10 J K I \triangle JKI has J K I = 9 0 \angle JKI = 90^\circ .

Notice that triangle H K G HKG is a 3 4 5 3-4-5 right triangle, therefore H K G = 9 0 \angle HKG=90^\circ . That means J K I = 9 0 \angle JKI=\boxed{90^\circ} .
