In the given figure both balls are of mass 1 kg and velocity v both are joined by a spring of spring constant 100 find v. The maximum elongation of the spring is found to be 0.4m.the balls are going in perpendicular directions that is one is in the direction of elongation of the spring and the other is in perdicular direction to the elongation of the spring.both have same initial velocity v hence find v
