find :
m 4 + n 4 . m^4+n^4.

Square m+n. Since m^2+n^2=3, just solve for mn (it's 1/2). Then square m^2+n^2 ( it's 3^2). Since mn is 1/2. (mn)^2 is 1/4. Substitute and solve.
