Percentage of fiction books=28%.

To get the percentage of non-fiction books=100% - 28% =72%.

there are (72 - 28 )%= 44% more fiction books than non fiction books.

let x x be the total number of books in library. 44% of x x = 1980. 44 100 \frac{44}{100} * x x = 1980. x x = 1980 100 44 \frac{1980*100}{44} . x x = 4500.

Thus, the total number of books in the library is 4500.

There is a 44% difference which is equivalent to 1980 books. This implies 1% of books is 45. Thus 100% of books will be 4500 \boxed{4500}
