Radius of the circle = 1 0 cm
Side of the square = 2 0 cm. ( 1 0 × 2 )
∴ Area of square = 2 0 × 2 0 = 4 0 0 sq.cm
Area of the circle = π × r 2 = 3 . 1 4 × 1 0 0 = 3 1 4 sq.cm
Area of square - Area of circle = 4 0 0 − 3 1 4
= 8 6 sq.cm . This is the area of the 4 leftover parts and the area of the 4 parts is equal.
∴ Area of the shaded part = 2 8 6 = 4 3 sq.cm
