Or you can say that 100/99=1000/990 which is obviously bigger than 1000/999.
same solution, upvoted.
Yeah same answer
Which one is larger.
Hey how can I gain pace in Mathematics....
I divided both so 100/99=0.99 and 1000/999=0.999 And 0.99 is greater than 0.999

100 is bigger than 99 so imposible that 100/99 is les than 1
Sashirie, Please instruct how .99>.999. If I were being paid .99 of a million dollars or .999 of a million dollars I'd choose .999 every day. Am I missing something?
Just take the reciprocal of the nos and compare since 0.99<0.999 therefore (100/99>1000/999)
Nice problem
Typical way I learnt:
9 9 1 0 0 : 9 9 9 1 0 0 0 = 9 9 9 × 1 0 0 : 9 9 × 1 0 0 0 = 99900 : 99000. {Multiplied both sides by 999 × 99}
Therefore 9 9 1 0 0 > 9 9 9 1 0 0 0 as 99900 > 99000.
Answer: 9 9 1 0 0
9 9 1 0 0 = 9 1 0 0 ( 1 1 1 ) = 9 1 0 0 ( 1 2 2 1 1 1 1 )
9 9 9 1 0 0 0 = 9 1 0 0 ( 1 1 1 1 0 ) = 9 1 0 0 ( 1 2 2 1 1 1 0 )
So the greather is 9 9 1 0 0
Just multiply-divide by 10
100/99=1.01010101 1000/999=1.001001001
Simply reciprocate the two get the decimal valus the smaller one is greater.
9 9 1 0 0 = 9 9 0 1 0 0 0 > 9 9 9 1 0 0 0
I just reciprocated both numbers. Knew that 999/1000 was larger than 99/100, so their reciprocals are in reverse order.
You could only say they were the same if it was 100/90 and 1000/900 because you can simplify by removing two zeroes at the end. You can't do that with other numbers like 999.

9 9 1 0 0 = 9 9 9 9 + 1 = 1 + 9 9 1
Similarly, 9 9 9 1 0 0 0 = 9 9 9 9 9 9 + 1 = 1 + 9 9 9 1
Since, 9 9 1 is greater than 9 9 9 1
Therefore, 9 9 1 0 0 > 9 9 9 1 0 0 0
