Astronomical unit

An astronomical unit (abbreviated as AU) is a unit of length now defined as about 1.5 × 1 0 8 1.5 \times 10^8 km(about 93 93 million miles), or roughly the mean Earth–Sun distance. A light-year (symbol: LY), is a unit of length (not time), too. As defined by the International Astronomical Union (IAU), a light-year is the distance that light travels in vacuum in one Julian year. If the speed of light in vacuum is 3 × 1 0 8 3 \times 10^8 m/s, then how many AU's are there in a LY?

63072 AU 1051.2 AU 2628 AU 172.8 AU

time taken by light to reach the earth 8.5 mins convert 1 yer in minutes and divide by 8.5 and you will got a close answer

Convert 1 year in seconds multiply it to the speed of light and convert meter to km and then use this no. of AU = LY/AU you'll get 63072.
