At the commune

Logic Level 1

A boy and a girl are sitting on the front steps of their commune, dressed in such loose, baggy clothes you can't identify either person's specific gender.

Speaker with red hair: "I'm a boy."

Speaker with brown hair: "I'm a girl."

At least one of them is lying.

What color is the girl's hair?

Red Cannot be determined Brown

"at least one of them lie", so if one of them is lie then the another one must be lie too. so, the girl must be the speaker with red hair

Note that if only one lied they would both be boys or both be girls.

The speaker with the brown hair is the boy, and the speaker with the red hair is the girl.

There's no way one of them is lying, so both must be lying. The red haired is lying, she's a girl. The brown haired is also lying, he's a boy.

The question says ''at least'' ,so how can we be sure that there is no way one of them is lying?

assuming that one is lying: If the brown haired lies, it means he's a boy, the the red haired also says he's a boy. No way. IF the red haired lies, it means she's a girl while the brown haired, telling the truth, says sh'e a girl. So no wayone of them is lying, both of them are lying. CMIIW

We are given that of the two speakers, one is a boy and the other is a girl.

If exactly one of them were lying, both of them would be the same gender. So this is impossible. Since at least one of them is lying, both must have lied. Therefore, the girl must have the red hair.
