There are eight pets - all of them are dogs apart from two of them, so 8 - 2 = 6 There are six dogs. Every pet is a cat, apart from seven of them - six of them are dogs, so one is a cat and one is a rabbit. 6 dogs + 1 cat + 1 rabbit = 8 pets.
