PEMDAS, wants you to start with P arentheses, then go to E xponents, followed by M ultiplication and D ivision, and lastly, A ddition and S ubtraction. The thing is, people think that once parenthesis are solved, they should do the operation connecting it so they would get 12÷4(2+4) = 12÷ 4(6) 12/24= 1/2.

That is incorrect however and we have to remember that once the parenthesis is solved, we have to do division and multiplication from beginning to end. This would result in 12÷4(2+4) = 12÷4(2+4) = 12÷4(6) = 3(6) = 18.

That's incorrect. You have to remove parentheses before continuing with order of operations. Even though parentheses act as multuplication, it still is parentheses. Hence, why have to multiply what's outside with what is inside the parentheses.

Therefore, the solution is: 12÷4(2+4) = 12÷4(6) = 12÷24 = 0.5

No, in PEMDAS, P means to solve for the "stuff" within the parenthesis and then you should continue

No, that interpretation is incorrect. We perform division and multiplication from left to right.
