Calvin arrived at his friends house, and is trying to find a place to park. He drove 123 meters east, but there were no available spaces. He made a U-turn, and drove a further 456 meters west, before finding a spot. How far away (in meters) is he from his friend's house?

He drove 123 meters east and 456 meters west, hence is now 456 123 = 333 456 - 123 = 333 meters west of his friends house.
