Bad time...

Level pending

Suppose you own a bad clock that takes away 24 minutes every hour. You know that it showed correct time at midnight. The clock is showing 3 a.m. right now. If the clock stopped one hour ago, what is the exact time now?

6 am 3 am 4 am 5 am

3 60 5 3 + 60 60 = 6 : 00 am \frac{3\cdot 60 \frac{5}{3}+60}{60}=6:00 \text{ am}

Could you elaborate that?

At 00.00 am it's correct.. Now add 36 minutes every hour. So at 1.00 it's 12.36 @2.00 it's 1.12 Similarly @5 its 3:00 am Since clock stopped 1 hr before correct time is 6:00

After every 1hr (real) the clock is behind by 24mins. But 1hr(real) is just 36 mins in the clock. Therefore, in 3hrs(of clock) = 5hrs have passed As the clock stooped an hour ago, so the real time is 6hrszzz...ie 6a.m.
