Father's present age = x
Son't present age = y
Father's age earlier = y
Son's age earlier = x/8 [so that father's age is 8 times = x]
Difference in their ages will always remain constant:-
=> x-y = y-(8/y)
=> 9x - 16y = 0...........(1) [solving the above equation]
Also, it is given that x + y = 75 .............(2)
Solving (1) with (2), we get x = 48 [Father's age] and y = 27 [Son's age].
