first of all I consider 4000 Rs & I found 5% on 4000 that is200 and thereafter I calculate 6% on remaining 6000 that i got 360 so 360+200=560 so Ans is 4000

trial and error method, but what if there's no choices??

Assume that 0.05A+0.06B=560 where A is the money he invests in 5% and B is the money he invests in 6 % the second equation is A+B=10000 ..by solving the two equations together we get A=4000 , B=6000

This can be done through matrix : Let he invest Rs x in 5% => he invests Rs 10,000 - x in 6% [x 10,000-x] [5/100] = 560 [6/100]

5/100 * x + 10,000*6/100 - 6/100 * x = 560

=> x=4000 <--- required answer

x amount on 5% interest and (10000-x) pays 6 % interest

so total interest is =(x 1 5)/100 +( (10000-x) 1 6/100 | 560 = 5x/100 +600 -6x/100 | 6x/100 - 5x/100 =600-560 | x/100 =40 | x =4000

As we know interest = (Principle * rate * time)/100,

Let the money in account which pays 5 % annual interest be x

Then the money in account which pays 5 % annual interest= 10000-x (Total principle=10000)

Time=1 year

So interest for account of 5 % bank = X * 5 * 1/100 = 5x/100

And interest for account of 6 % bank= (10000-X) * 6 * 1 /100=60000-6x/100

So, 5x/100 + 6x/100 = 560

On simplifying equation we get the value of x=4000

So, 5x/100 + 6x/100 = 560 Is NOT correct. BUT: x.5/100 + (10 000 - x).6/100 = 560 <=> 0,05x + 600 - 0,06x = 560 <=> 40 = 0,01x <=> 4000 = x

can i ask question from where you get 6x/100

The answer is 4000. No algebra required to solve it.

it has a practical way too

let the two account be x ,y the x account gave it 5% and y gave 6% suppose it deposite p amount in x account and q(10000-p) in y therefore

5%of p +6% of q=560

ex- let it deposite 4000 in x and 6000 in y

so, 200+360=560

Let money in 5% account= x

Money in 6% account= 10000-x

Interest= (P R T)/100, where P= Principal , R= Rate, T= Time in years.

Interest in 5% account= (x 5 1)/100 = 0.05x

Interest in 6% account= ((10000-x) 6 1)/100 = (60000-6x)/100

Total Interest= 560

0.05x + ((60000-6x)/100) = 560

5x+60000-6x=56000

x=4000

5% of 10000=500

6% of 10000=600

6000*6%=360

4000*5%-200

360+200=560

Let's say which he invested in 5% account = x

in 6% account = 10000-x

0.05x+0.06(10000-x)=560

0.05x+600-0.06x=560

-.0.1x+600=560

-.0.01x=560-600

-0.01x=-40

0.01x=40

so x=40*100=4000

4000 RS / 100% =40 RS( raj invest 4000 outof 10000 in that acount that pays 5 % so the 5% of 4000 is 200 rs) 40 Rs * 5%=200Rs 10000-4000=6000 (the remaining money is 6000 which he invests in the account which pays 6% interest) 6000 Rs / 100%=60 Rs 60 * 6% = 360 (so the 6% interest is 360 Rs) 360+200=560 (and total interest is 560 Rs) :)

if we divided the money in two accounts... the firs account 5% will invest in 4000 ....and .....the rest money is 6000 he will invest in an account 6%............
there fore: the first account he will earn 5/100(4000)=200............ the second account he will earn 6/100(6000)=360.............. and the totall earn of the year is 200+.360=560

(4000 * 0.05) + (6000 * 0.06) = 200 + 360 = 560.

x rupees at the rate 5% 10000 rupees at the rate 6% i1=(x 5 1 )/100 i2=((10000-x) 6 1)/100 i1+i2=560 =>x=4000

Since you already have choice, simple calcuation of prectages yellds that 4,000 at 5%= 200 and 6,000 at 6% =360, consequently the best choice

Let us assume the investments to be x and y respectively. Now A/Q, 5x/100 + 6y/100 = 560 -----------eqn 1

We also know x + y = 10000 which implies, y = 10000-x -----------eqn 2

Put the value of y in equation 1 and solve it for x. If the calculations are done correctly, the answer will come out to be Rs. 4000

Let a+b=10,000 a being the money he is going to invest with 5% annual interest and b being the money he is going to invest with 6% annual interest. Then one can write a 0.05+b 0.06=560. Multiply out by 100 and get 5a+6b=56000. then use group the Left hand side of the equation like so 5(a+b)+b, then reintroduce the equation in the beginning so that b+50,000=56,000 which means b=6000 and that then means a=4000.

10 000 will be split. x = the money invested at 5% (10 000 - x) = the money invested at 6%

x.5/100 + (10 000 - x).6/100 = 560 <=> 0,05x + 600 - 0,06x = 560 <=> 40 = 0,01x <=> 4000 = x

Controle: when 4000 invested at 5%, you get 200 interest. when 6000 invested at 6%, you get 360 interest. total of 560 interest.

Therefor there is Rs.4000 invested at 5%.

well let x be the amount invested at 5%..10,000-x is the amount invested at 6%.5%^x+6%^(10000-x)=560.there you go

let x=invested @ 5% 10 000 - x = invested @ 6 percent we have

x(.05) + (10 000 - x)(.06) = 560 0.05x - 0.06x = 560 - 600 x = 4000

answer is acquired without using the formula for interest and principal

5x/100+6(10000-x)/100=560 so,x=4000

5x/100+6[10000-x]/100=560

so,x=4000

If all is in 5%, total I = 500/- For each 1000/- in 6% gives Re. 1 extra. He got Rs. 60/- extra => Rs 6000/- in 6% => Rs 4000/- in 5%.
