The objective of the puzzle is to insert a digit from 1 to 9 inclusive into each white cell such that the sum of the numbers in each entry matches the clue associated with it and that no digit is duplicated in any entry. It is that lack of duplication that makes creating Kakuro puzzles with unique solutions possible. Like Sudoku, solving a Kakuro puzzle involves investigating combinations and permutations.

What's fun about this puzzle is that we can fill in all the 1's, 2's, 3's, 4's, and 5's in order (from bottom to the top) and they are all forced and no guesswork is needed.

We can continue to fill in all the 6's, 7's, 8's and 9's in that order as well.
