  • x 2 x 8 + 2 = 0 { x }^{ 2 }-x\sqrt { 8 } +2=0
  • x 2 2 x 2 + 2 = 0 { x }^{ 2 }-2x\sqrt { 2 } +2=0
  • Using rule of perfect squares:
  • ( x 2 ) 2 = 0 { (x-\sqrt { 2 } ) }^{ 2 }=0
  • x= 2 \sqrt { 2 }
  • Squaring the answer: = 2

I would not call this a radical equation. I think it is a quadratic equation.
