Bending of rays

A ray of light is incident making an angle θ \theta with the axis on one plane end of a transparent cylindrical fiber as shown in the figure. It is observed that for θ > 4 5 o \theta>45^{o} , the ray of light entering the cylinder, will come out of the curved surface The refractive index of the material of the cylinder up to two decimal places

Take 3 = 1.732 \sqrt{3}=1.732 and 2 = 1.414 \sqrt{2}=1.414


The answer is 1.22.
