As per given number line figure ..............
....product of any two values b/w 0 & y will be less than y ( eg; 0.1*0.7 =0.07
....therefore product of xy ( 0 < x & y < 1) will be less than x and greater than 0.(ans.)

Consider an easier case. One being .25x.5. this gives us .125 which is between 0 and .25, so the answer is that the given number must be between 0 and x.
