Bicycle Kinematics

There are two cyclists on a straight bike path. Cyclist 1 is initially stationary as Cyclist 2 passes from behind at a constant speed of $5 \text{ m/s}$ . Cyclist 1 begins accelerating forward at a constant rate of $\alpha$ when Cyclist 2 is 30 meters ahead. He accelerates for a period of time, and then decelerates at a rate of $\alpha$ until he simultaneously matches the speed and position of Cyclist 2 30 seconds after beginning to move. Determine the value of $\alpha$ in $m/s^2$ .
