Brilli the Ant hasn't eaten for days. In the given figure, Brilli is at position A and his favourite Pie is at position B of the box. If each side of the cubical box is 1 1 unit long, what is the shortest distance Brilli has to travel in order to eat the pie?

The distance up one side is (sqrt(1^2 + (1/2)^2) ) = sqrt((2/2)^2 + (1/2)^2) = sqrt(5/4) = (1/2) * sqrt(5) He has to travel over two faces so the total distance is 2 * (1/2) * sqrt(5) = sqrt(5).
