A farmer raises birds and pigs on his farm. All the animals have the normal number of limbs for their species.
I asked the farmer how many of each animal he had.
"The animals have a total of 226 wings and 562 legs."
Assuming the farmer is being truthful, how many pigs is he raising?

The birds each have 2 wings and 2 legs. So 226 of the legs belong to the birds.
There are therefore (562 - 226) = 336 legs belonging to the pigs.
Each pig has 4 legs, so the total number of pigs is 336/4 = 84.
