boats are travelling in opposite direction hence thier relative speed is 5 + 10 = 15

toal distance is 20 km

time to collide with each other is 20/15 = 4/3 hr i.e 80 min

before 1 min i.e. 80-1 = 79

the distance between two boats will be speed * time=distance

so 15*79/60 = 0.25 km (79 min are converted in hr)

i.e. 1/4 km

In the final minute before collision, two boats travel 5/60 km and 10/60 km, I.e. , 1/12km and. 1/6 km.

As they move in opposite directions, distance between the boats one minute before collision = 1/12 + 1/6 =1/4 km
