Raj was rowing a boat in a river. He left dock A and reached dock B after 1 hour. While returning from dock B to reach dock A he got delayed by half an hour extra due to opposition by river flow. If the speed of the boat independently was higher than the river flow and the distance between these two docks was 30 kilometers, then find the speed at which the river was flowing?

The speed of river will get subtracted while returning and will get added while going in the speed of the boat. B + R = 30 km per hour B - R = 20 km per hour. Adding these both, we will get 2B = 50 B = 25 R = 5 Thus, the speed of the river is 5 km per hour.
