We notice that when we break a chalk into smaller pieces, it becomes harder to break those pieces into further smaller pieces. It means that smaller the chalk, harder (needs more force) to break it.

As we keep breaking the chalks the COM comes very near to a place from where we give force ... So as we know When we are giving a couple so more force is required as we are decreasing our distance from COM. Hence we get the ans
