a = 1 a=1 , b = 2 b=2 , c = 3 c=3 \dots and so on

The pattern is the words of B r i l l i a n t Brilliant

b = 2 b=2 , r = 18 r=18\dots hence the answer is t = 20 \boxed {t=20}

HAHAHAHAHA, I SOLVED IT THE SAME WAY. THANKS FOR THE HINT.

I almost gave up then I started looking for the sort of palindrome 9,12,12,9 and saw it in the "illi" of Brilliant. Well played, sir.

I tried to solve for 10 minutes, and then I give up. Never thought of why this question is titled "Brilliant"... :)

By the way, I don't think its number theory question. It is just a puzzle type question.

A = 1 A=1 , B = 2 B=2 , C = 3 C=3 , ...

B R I L L I A N T 2 18 9 12 12 9 1 14 20 \begin{array} {ccccccccc} B & R & I & L & L & I & A & N & T \\ 2 & 18 & 9 & 12 & 12 & 9 & 1 & 14 & \boxed{20}\end{array}

This is a bit crazy one when I go through the hints. Sir, while it's seems good . Upvoted. :)

It's a funny & tricky question :-D The series of numbers represent alphabetic order like A=1, B=2, C=3......... :-) The series contains the word "BRILLIANT" :-) B=2, R=18,I=9..... so the answer is the last letter 'T' = 20 :-D

Study the word BRILLIANT and convert the letters into numbers based on their respective positions in the alphabet:

B-2, R-18, I-9, L-12, L-12, I-9, A-1, N-14 and T is the 20th letter of the alphabet!!! There you go!!!
