There are two identical metallic balls(B1 AND B2). B1 is kept on a insulated surface and B2 is hung insulated thread. Both are initially at same temperature and same amount of heat is given to both balls. Which ball has higher temperature?
Details and Assumptions
The experiment is done on earth in vacuum conditions

The ball hanging reduces the height of centre of mass and thus loses potential energy whereas the ball kept on ground gains potential energy since the centre of mass increases height by thermal expansion. Hence hanging ball will have higher temperature.
