Who is it?

Biology Level pending

All the members of the family of Mini (age 14), her father John and her mother Mary were attacked by the disease haemophilia. If we know that exactly one of them had to be treated in the hospital for making his/her blood haemophila negative, identify the most likely person.

I answered without knowing the biology reasons, my reasoning was that the question presented a disease that had infected 3 people, a young female, a middle age female and a middle age male. Only one of them is affected by the disease.

If age is the determining factor then Mini should be the one affected. If sex is the determining factor then John should be the one affected. We can rule out Mary.

For the next part I guessed, Mary and Mini both start with 'M' which hints at a connection between them. I also know that a teenager is generally more resilient to disease than someone 30-40 years old (I assumed her parents were in and around this age bracket).

Using these assumptions and logic I picked John.

Great method, but in your first paragraph, plz mention that all of them are attacked but only one is affected, if not there can be chances that some of the family members be in normal condition

All of them are attacked. So, the most likely person to have been affected is the fathwr John because he being a male has only one X chromosome which gets affected in case of such an attack, thus making him affected. The other two members being females have 2 X chromosomes. So, when they are attacked, they become carriers. So, the most likely answer is the father John. The age of Mini is just to confuse the solvers.
