Can I have more pure jellies?

Algebra Level 3

I had 100 grams of jelly which contained 51% water. But as the water evaporates, the jelly now contains 50% water. By how much has the mass of the jelly been reduced (in grams)?

The answer is 2.

I have 51g water 49 g solid . When water is evaporated , it reduce till 50% water and 50% solid . Solid will not be evaporated, so it's initial mass was 49g and it will remain 49g . In final jelly there was 50% solid =49g solid.

Total mass in final jelly will be 98g. So 2g is reduced.
