let the 2 sides be a and b, then a + b = 68 2 a+b=\frac{68}{2} , a 2 + b 2 = 2 6 2 a^2 +b^2=26^2 . ( a + b ) 2 = 3 4 2 (a+b)^2=34^2 a 2 + b 2 + 2 a b = 3 4 2 a^2+b^2+2ab=34^2 2 a b = 3 4 2 2 6 2 = 480 2ab=34^2-26^2=480 a b = 240 ab=240 which is the area we want to find.

rectangle ABCD . DIAGONAL=26
TWO TRIANGLES. ABC ADC Right angle so hypotenuse is 26.(10,24,26) .area of rectangle=24*10=240 ( an example of right triangle with sides 5,and12, and hypotenise13 )
