Cats are older than you think

Algebra Level 1

Experts typically agree that the first two years of a cat's life are equal to the first 25 25 years of a human’s. After that, each additional year is equal to approximately 4 4 years.

Grey has currently survived for 10 10 years and celebrated this milestone by getting many boxes. What is his equivalent human age?

57 human years 14 human years 70 human years 10 human years 40 human years 82 human years 53 human years

I'm only 13 years old (in human age). I can't be sure what my cat age is because it's undefined in the problem. I can't assume that any human age below 25 is calculated proportionally.

Given that Grey's age= 10 10 years

We know that First two years of a cat's life is equivalent to 25 25 years of a human's life. Therefore number of additional years after 2 years that Grey has survived = 10 2 = 8 years 10-2= 8\ \text {years} 1 year lived by a cat is equivalent to 4 human years

Therefore 8 years = 8 4 = 32 years 8 \ \text {years}= 8 * 4 = 32 \ \text {years} Therefore Grey's age is equivalent to 25 + 32 = 57 25+32 = 57 human years.

Great job :)
