Solution: x = - 3, y = 0 [Rectangular coordinates are Q (x, y).] r = x2+y2 = (- 3)2+02 = 3 [Substitute x = - 3 and y = 0.]

Sin θ = yr = 0 / 3 = 0 [Substitute y = 0, r = 3.]

θ = 180° [Q lies on negative x-axis.] The polar coordinates are Q (3, 180°)
