Exactly why people can kill themselves with CO poisoning when they lock themselves in a running car in a closed space..say a garage.
Fossil fuels are generally the hydrocarbons, which when burnt in presence of Oxygen produce C O X 2 and H X 2 O . For example: C H X 4 + 3 O X 2 → C O X 2 + 2 H X 2 O C X 2 H X 6 + 1 0 O X 2 → 2 C O X 2 + 3 H X 2 O
