What is the ratio of the coefficients of M n O X 4 X − , C 2 O 4 2 − , and H X + when the following reaction equation is balanced?
M n O X 4 X − + C 2 O 4 2 − + H X + → M n 2 + + C O X 2 + H X 2 O

By right, we have 6 variables to start with. However, by comparing the elements of M n , C and H , we can reduce it by 3 variable hence resulting in just a , b , c .
Elegant solution......sir!!!!!!

Let the coefficients be:
a M n O 4 − + b C 2 O 4 2 − + c H + → a M n 2 + + 2 b C O 2 + 2 c H 2 O
Equating for the number of O , we have:
4 a + 4 b = 4 b + 2 c ⇒ c = 8 a
The only answer option acceptable is 2 , 5 , 1 6 . Substituting the coefficients in the reaction equation we get a balanced one:
2 M n O 4 − + 5 C 2 O 4 2 − + 1 6 H + → 2 M n 2 + + 1 0 C O 2 + 8 H 2 O 2 M n , ( 8 + 2 0 ) O , 1 0 C , 1 6 H = 2 M n , ( 2 0 + 8 ) O , 1 0 C , 1 5 H
