I am used to oil painting so I knew the answer. Kerosene oil is also used to take off paint from Fabrics and other such articles.

The question asked tends us to think about the constituent of wall paints which is pine oil(which is used as solvent for dilution). Kerosene oil is used for cleaning and taking out paint which is not a constituent of paint.
