C 3 H 8 + 5 O 2 3 C O 2 + 4 H 2 O C_{3}H_{8} + 5O_{2} → 3CO_{2} + 4H_{2}O

This is the equation showing the combustion of PROPANE

Propane is used in gas cylinders as Liquified Petroleum Gas which is a combustible substance.

Only when there is oxygen present, so the right answer should be sometimes

When we are asking for combustible substance, oxygen is always implied.

Technically propane is a liquid until put and released under pressure thus becoming a vapor (gas) and only when oxygen is also present will it combust

Depends on conditions.

Combustion involves

  • carburant (combustible)
  • comburant (oxygen, oxidizing agent)
  • heat source (self explanatory)

If a substance can take the place of carburant, it is combustible.
