The white queen moves to a5 and the black king moves to e8

The rook at h1 moves to e1 and the black king has been checkmated

Hence 2 moves \boxed{2 ~ \text{moves}} is minimum

I wrote the solution but forgot to publish it😂

The black king is totally helpless. The black knight and black bishop are still in their initial positions. The best move for white is Queen to e5 checking the black king, the black king moves to e8, then the white rook to e1 for the checkmate. A wonderful mate in two for the white army!
