total distributed=45-7=38 chocolates.

students=38/2=19.

Let number of students be x x .
45 = 2 x + 7 2 x = 38 x = 19 45 = 2x + 7\\ 2x = 38\\ x = \color{#69047E}{\boxed{19}}

Easy just 45minus 7 equal to 38 As the say each student get 2 So you just have to divide 38/2 Answer is 19

Let x be the number of students. Then 2x+7=45 2x=45-7=38 x=19

Thats the perfect algebraic way to solve such problems. (y)

(45-7)/2 = 19

(45 - 7) /2 = 38/2 = 19

45-2x=7 (start with 45 subtract the binomial for each student getting 2 "as 2X" to equal 7 left over)

Then subtract 45 from each side 2X=7-45 Then -2X=-38

Then divide by negative 2, and X=19

Why is this wrong? Let N be the number of students. Twice their number subtracted from the total number of chocolates equals 7. In algebra: 45 - 2N = 7. 2N = 7 - 45. So... N = -19??

45-2n=7 -2n=7-45 2n=45-7 2n=38 N=19

oh. That's why I suck in algebra

just think logically, there is no way that a number of students is minus! (=w=)b

I did it in this way (mostly all did) Total chocolates = 45 Left= 7 Distributed = 45-7=38 Each student gets 2 chocolates So,38/2=19..... So there are 19 students

Total chocolates=45

Chocolates left=7

so chocolates distributed=45-7=38

Each student gets=2 chocolates

so number of students=38÷2=19
