here we will take 7 garlands and put 4 in the first temple then we will be left with 3 2=6 garlands we will again put 4 garland in the other temple and we will be left with 2 2 = 4 garlands and finally we will put 4 garlands in the third temple and we will be left with no garlands

Suppose, i take 2 garlands, I put 1 garland in 1st temple, So I have 2 garlands left, then i put 1 garland in 2nd temple,i again have 2 left, then i again put 1 garland in 1st temple , i have 2 left again , then i put 1 in 2nd temple, so i have 2 garlands left again, then i put 2 garlands in 3rd temple, so, Garlands left=0 and no of garlands in all temples =2. Can anyone tell me what is wrong in this approach?

Any multiple above zero of 7 will do the same work.
