Chup Goh Meh

Number Theory Level pending

To make his 15-ounce rice wine last throughout the 15 days of Lunar New Year celebration, Ah Ong had an idea: On he 1st. day, he will drink 1 ounce and refill the bottle with 1 ounce of water. On the 2nd. day, he will drink 2 ounces of the water-wine mixture and refill it back with 2 ounces of water. Similiarly, on the 3rd. day, he will consume 3 ounces of the mixture and refill it with 3 ounces of water. He continues with this process until he completely consumes the entre bottle of wine-water mixture on the last day of the lunar New Year, or Chap Goh Meh . How many ounces of water will Ah Ong drink altogether? ( This problem is not original)

This is a really simple problem. Just add the amount of liquid Ah Ong drank from day 1 to day 15: 1+2+3+4...+13+14=15=120 ounces. Then, subtract the amount of rice wine, namely 15 ounces and we get 105 ounces of water!
