The radius of the inscribed circle in a polygon with area A A and perimeter u u is r = 2 A u r = \frac {2A}{u} . In this case, we have A = 3 4 2 = 6 A = \frac {3 \cdot 4}{2} = 6 and u = 3 + 4 + 5 = 12 u = 3 + 4 + 5 = 12 , so r = 2 6 12 = 1 r = \frac {2 \cdot 6}{12} = 1 .
