The radius of a circle is 28 cm and the measure of the angle subtended by an arc at centre is 90/11 degrees. Find the area of major segment. NOTE- no need to give the unit in the solution.

There is a cool formula to find the area of a segment which is,
3 6 0 θ π r 2
using the formula given above you can find the area as follows,
3 6 0 1 1 9 0 × 7 2 2 × 2 8 2
i.e. 1 1 1 × 4 1 × 2 2 × 4 × 2 8
i.e. 2 × 2 8
= 5 6
And we can find the area of the circle as, π r 2
i.e, 7 2 2 × 2 8 × 2
= 2 4 6 4
there fore the area of the major segment is 2 4 6 4 − 5 6 = 2 4 0 8
