  • Between A and B:
  • V = 2.5 V
  • R = 5 Ω
  • I = V/R = 0.5 A

  • Between B and C:
  • Equivalent resistance = 1 1 R + 1 R + 1 R \dfrac1{\frac1R+\frac1R+\frac1R} = R 3 \dfrac R3
  • Total current = 0.5 A (current is conserved)
  • V = 2.5 V ( V A C = V A B + V B C V_{AC}=V_{AB}+V_{BC} )

  • 2.5 = 0.5 R 3 2.5 = 0.5 \dfrac R3 -> R = 15 R=15 .

  1. find the current across 5 ohm resistor with voltage given as 2.5 V: I=V/R= 2.5/5= 0.5A
  2. The total value of resistors in parallel is= R/3
  3. the total resistance of ckt is (R/3 + 5)ohm, voltage across the total resistance is 5V and current is 0.5A therefore solving the eqn: V=IR gives R=15 and 10R=150
