Circular Motion #12

A small bob hangs in the vertical plane from a fixed point using a light inextensible rigid rod of length l l . Let the minimum horizontal velocity that the bob should be given so that it moves in a complete circle be v m i n v_{min} .

If v m i n v_{min} can be written as A g l \sqrt{ A g l} where g g is the gravitational field, find the value of the constant A A .

Note: Neglect air resistance.

Since the ball is attached with a rod, we don't have to consider slacking of it at the highest point.

So, we straightaway resort to applying law of conservation of energy to find the answer. I am omitting the calculations here.
