Logic Level 5

Above shows a 6 by 6 square grid. Your objective is to place the numbers 1 to 6 such that each row and column contain each of the digits 1 to 6. The inequality constraints are specified between some of the squares to indicate one must be higher or lower than its neighbor. If A , B , C A,B,C indicate the numbers in the square boxes as shown above, find the value of A × B × C A\times B\times C .

The answer is 48.

Well, that took long to write.

I wish I can store this somewhere safe that doesn't take my quota. (Can I store this on Brilliant's server or something?)

Moderator note:

Great explanation. Thanks for walking us through your steps and explaining these techniques in detail.

What I would have done is to screenshot each pages manually and paste as pictures in the solution.

Great thanks! Will see what tricks you have up your sleeves!

The best that I can do, is to upload screenshots of the document. We don't have a way to store non-images, or non-text files as yet.

First Solve the Right-most column, Than Solve 2nd Row..So (A) (B) (C)=48

Was it easy? Medium? Hard?

it was very hard

Medium. But it was nice to see that the problem was formulated well enough, so that it's nearly impossible to find A * B * C just by solving the grid, partially. :D
