In a complete combustion, C O 2 CO_2 is released. In a incomplete combustion C O CO and other harmful gases are released.

The answer is combustion because the reaction involves oxygen as a reactant and one of the products is heat energy. What makes it complete combustion is that the only 2 chemical products were carbon dioxide and water vapor.
